You will be able to access information about our range of funeral plans and you will be able to arrange the purchase (and payments) of a funeral plan online through our Website (the “Services”).

10. Buying online from Avalon

When you buy a funeral plans online from us you will be protected Online by the Consumer Contracts regulations.

We will:

  • provide you with a full description of your plan
  • provide you with our contact details including our email address
  • list the steps involved when you place an order with Avalon
  • clearly explain how you can pay and include delivery options
  • take reasonable steps to inform you of obvious errors in your order and provide you with an opportunity to correct them
  • provide you with the total price of your plan including any instalment costs
  • make it clear to you at which point of the transaction you will be making your payment when you place your order with us online (a ‘pay now’ button)
  • within 24 hours provide you with a receipt of payment and confirmation of your online order
  • provide you with your plan documents within 7 days of your online order
  • provide you with a downloadable version of you funeral plan Terms and Conditions so that you can store or print them off
  • provide a 30-day cooling off period should you change your mind and return any money paid to you within 30 days of a plan cancellation

11. Applicable law

These Terms, their subject matter and their formation, are governed by English law. You and we both agree that the courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction except that if you are a resident of Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in Northern Ireland, and if you are resident of Scotland, you may also bring proceedings in Scotland. If you purchase your plan online from within one of the European countries that we operate in your statutory rights will apply within the legal jurisdiction of your European residency.
