Co-op funeral plans vs Avalon
Co-op Funeralcare is the largest Funeral Director chain in the UK, with over 1,000 funeral homes. It offers a range of prepaid funeral plans and is regulated by the Funeral Planning Authority. However, Co-op funeral plans, unlike Avalon, don’t offer unlimited transport in mainland UK and Northern Ireland. This means that if you pass away more than 50 miles from your assigned funeral home, your family may have to pay extra transport costs. In addition, embalming is not included, whereas an Avalon funeral plan covers embalming, free of charge, when required.
Dignity funeral plans vs Avalon
Dignity is one of the largest funeral chains in the UK and also operates over 40 private crematoria across the country. If you buy a Dignity funeral plan your family may be faced with addition costs for items such as Doctors fees and Embalming when they are required. Avalon will cover these costs as part of the third party allowance included in your plan.
Golden Charter funeral plans vs Avalon
Golden Charter is a funeral plan company owned and run by independent Funeral Directors. When you buy a Golden Charter funeral plan, the basic costs of your funeral are paid for in advance, but there are other costs that your family may have to pay for themselves. Golden Charter limit conveyance in their plans. This means if you die further than 25 miles away from home, your family may have to meet addition mileage costs to transport you to your Golden Charter Funeral Director. Embalming isn’t included, and neither is the Doctor’s fee for certification.
Golden Leaves funeral plans vs Avalon
Golden Leaves operates in the UK and abroad, offering prepaid funeral plans. Like many other funeral plan providers, Golden Leaves funeral plans only offer limited transportation mileage should you die away from home – your family may have to pay for any extra costs over 25 miles. Embalming is not included, unlike an Avalon funeral plan where embalming is offered free of charge if required. In addition, if you die before your plan is fully paid for, Golden Leaves will always ask your loved ones to pay the outstanding balance before the plan can be used – but with Avalon, you can benefit from the Avalon Promise.
Safe Hands funeral plans vs Avalon
As well as not offering many of the features you get with an Avalon plan, such as the Avalon Promise and unlimited conveyance, Safe Hands funeral plans only have a Trustpilot score of 8.4/10 from 53 reviews. Avalon has nearly 1,500 reviews and a score of 9.6/10 from real customers.
Simplicity Cremations funeral plans vs Avalon
Simplicity Cremations is a trading style of Dignity PLC, one of the largest Funeral Director chains in the country. It offers prepaid cremation plans which provide basic funerals in the UK. This means that embalming and doctor’s fees aren’t included in the plan, so your loved ones will have to pay for these when required.
