If you are visiting this page because you have recently lost a loved one, please accept our sincere condolences.

Funeral Plans provide help and support at a difficult time

Your loved one took out a funeral plan to provide help and support to family for the time when they die. They took the time to decide on the arrangements they want for their funeral and paid for them in advance.

When you need to put the Plan into motion, you can contact our bereavement team in the UK on 0161 486 2020, or in Spain or Portugal on +34 966 799 070 and in Cyprus on +357 2301 0132; we are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

You will need to confirm the plan holder’s details and ideally provide the funeral plan number.

What is included and not included in the plan?

We will be able to tell you exactly what the plan your loved one purchased includes. Avalon Funeral Plans cover the essential products and services provided by the funeral director.

We will tell you what is included in the funeral plan they bought, as well as the contributions included in the plan towards third-party costs (these are called disbursements and are paid by the funeral director on your behalf; for example, Doctors fees, cremation fee, minister, or officiant fee).

We will also tell you what is not included in the plan and what additional costs there could be.

Your allocated funeral director

We will arrange for the allocated funeral director to contact you to take care of all the funeral arrangements as outlined in the plan.

Contact our bereavement team in the UK on 0161 486 2020, or in Spain or Portugal on +34 966 799 070 and in Cyprus on +35 726 022 696; we are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Information concerning potential provider failure

In the unlikely event that Avalon cease trading, it’s likely that your funeral plan contract will be transferred to (and continue to be carried out by) another regulated funeral plan provider. However, should this happen, it could potentially incur extra costs to you. In the event that your funeral plan contract will not continue to be carried out by us or another firm, you will receive a payment corresponding to your balance, but this may not be the full amount you’ve paid in.

Financial Services Compensation Scheme

Avalon are a member of the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS). Should we be unable to meet our liabilities, you may be entitled to compensation from their compensation scheme. Further information about the scheme is available on www.fscs.org.uk
