Avalon is an FCA authorised funeral plan provider

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has taken over regulation of the prepaid funeral plan market on 29th July 2022 and the Avalon group of companies are now authorised providers. Please visit the FCA website for confirmation of our approved status for both Avalon Trustee Limited (FCA registration: 965284) and Avalon (Europe) Limited (FCA registration: 965286).

How does FCA regulation of the prepaid funeral plan market benefit you?

The new rules introduced by the FCA will ensure all providers maintain the high standards set by these regulations. Funeral plan providers will need to adhere to these rules to ensure that plans are sold fairly, that the products provide the expected benefits and deliver true value for money.

At Avalon we strongly believe that regulation of the funeral planning market is a positive step forward for our industry and customers. It will ensure that all plan providers adhere to the same high levels of quality and service that you have come to expect from Avalon.

Avalon has been customer-focused for more than 25 years and our principles align closely with the new regulations coming into effect. We have embraced FCA regulation as a positive step for the future of the funeral planning industry and feel passionate and excited about the future.

FSCS protection of funeral plans

Avalon funeral plan holders now also benefit from FSCS protection.

This means that in the unlikely event that Avalon was to go out of business, you may be able to claim compensation with FSCS.  This includes Avalon funeral plans bought before 29th July 2022 when FCA took over regulation of the market. Further information about the scheme is available on the FSCS website: www.fscs.org.uk or you can download a leaflet.
