Avalon’s Repatriation Burial Funeral Plan (Cyprus) has been designed for expats living in Cyprus who want to be repatriated back to mainland Great Britain for a burial funeral.
This comprehensive plan includes a flight and funeral directors’ services in both Cyprus and mainland Great Britain. A coffin, three days mortuary expenses, all transport, legal administration and funeral arrangements are provided as part of your plan, giving your family ultimate peace of mind that the complex arrangements of a repatriation will be taken care of.
The Avalon Repatriation Burial Funeral Plan (Cyprus) includes:
Attending to all legal and administrative formalities required for repatriation from Cyprus to the mainland Great Britain- liaising with Cyprus and GB funeral director and supervision throughout- Appointed Funeral Director in Cyprus and mainland Great Britain attending to all the necessary funeral arrangements prior to and on the day of the funeral
- Appointed Funeral Director in Cyprus and mainland Great Britain providing confidential advice on the certification and registration of the death
- Collection and transportation of the deceased from a place of residence, a care home, hospital, or resting place in Cyprus to the mortuary in Cyprus
- Care and preparation the deceased for transportation – to include full hygienic treatment as required
- 3 days mortuary expenses in Cyprus
- Supply of a coffin suitable for transportation
- Transportation of the deceased to the airport in Cyprus
- Flight for the deceased to mainland Great Britain
- Collection and care of the deceased from airport in mainland Great Britain
- Supply of a simple coffin suitable for burial in mainland Great Britain
- Disbursement allowance included in your plan is £1000 plus any uplift from the Consumer Price Index applied every July. The allowance is put towards the cost of products and services associated with the funeral in the UK that are not guaranteed to be covered under the other terms of your plan and are typically used to cover in part or all of the costs for:
- a) Burial fee for the preparation, opening and closing an existing burial plot
- b) Doctor’s fee for the provision the medical certificate
- c) Minister or Celebrant fee to perform the funeral service on the day of the funeral
- A contribution of £250 towards transportation of the deceased to the Funeral Director's appointed funeral home in mainland Great Britain
- Relevant funeral staff required to conduct the funeral service in mainland Great Britain
- 24-hour bereavement line with English speaking operators based in Europe

- Any services for a Funeral Director not appointed by Avalon
- Additional venue costs to host the event or a service, including a church service
- A wake, including the costs associated with catering for the funeral congregation/guests
- Obituary notices posted in the media
- Flowers, floral tributes, or any items requested in celebration of the deceased
- Burial plot – a plot of land purchased to be used as a grave
- Headstone, memorials, or associated costs for stonework and erection thereof
- Gifts, including charitable donations
- Cost incurred for the upkeep and maintenance of a memorial
- Any transportation of funeral guests on the day of the funeral
- List of funeral guests who sent flowers and charitable donations
- Use of chapel of rest for viewing the deceased
- Hymn cards and order of service
- Audio or visual equipment
- Interment or distribution of ashes
- Repatriation to or from any other country
- Delivery of ashes back to Cyprus
- Any extra airport handling fees not included in the flight
- Any other goods or services not listed in the inclusions section
Any services for a Funeral Director not appointed by AvalonOn return to mainland Great Britain, your plan includes a £1000 disbursement allowance that is used to pay towards the disbursement fees associated with the funeral. The contribution increases in line with the UK Consumer Price Index (CPI) on the 1st July each year. You can find full details in your Terms and Conditions.

- You die as a result of an accident at any time
- When you die your plan has already been in place for 12 months for a UK plan or 18 months for one of our Europe plans
This means your loved ones won’t have to make up the difference for the cost of the services in the plan and can focus on celebrating your life, instead of worrying about finding the money to pay for your funeral.

The Price of a Funeral
The Avalon Repatriation Burial Funeral Plan (Cyprus) price of €7450 compares to the current average price of an ‘at need’ funeral price should you require a similar funeral today.
At time of sale, Avalon will allocate your plan to a specific Funeral Director(s) and have negotiated a wholesale price for the costs of provision of your funeral. These wholesale costs to Avalon vary, for example, by region and plan type but on average are for this plan are €5669 + annual uplift for inflation at today’s prices.
Unlike the plan price you pay which is fixed, the at need price today is likely to rise with inflation each year until you need a funeral. These wholesale costs to Avalon are also uplifted for inflation each year.
